Biology & mechanism

A hexapeptide ghrelin-receptor agonist that stimulates pituitary GH release. Less selective than ipamorelin — it produces measurable increases in cortisol and prolactin alongside GH.

What the research actually shows

Approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent for assessing growth hormone secretory reserve, which is its one well-established human use. Evidence for therapeutic use is absent.

Regulatory status

Not FDA-approved. Approved in Japan as a diagnostic (Pralmorelin/GHRP Kaken). Prohibited in sport (WADA S2).

Safety signals

Cortisol and prolactin elevation distinguish it from selective agents. Long-term human safety not characterised.
